چکیده

ABSTRACT: Eurytrema coelomaticum is a trematode reported in the pancreatic ducts of ruminants. It conjectured that may cause disorders pancreas, as well digestive and metabolic processes dependent on them. This study, determined if there an impairment exocrine function, correlated it with parasite burden. Pancreas, blood, fecal samples were collected from 119 bovines at abattoir. Stool subjected to gelatin x-ray film digestion tests (to detect presence trypsin feces). Using blood samples, following biochemical performed: amylase, lipase, glucose, fructosamine, cholesterol, triglycerides, total protein, albumin, globulins. Analyses Cattle high parasitic load presented higher incidence negative both (P < 0.001) when compared non-parasitized animals those low load. Changes only occurred parasitemia was moderate or severe. The activity amylase lipase enzymes significantly 0.05), In this cases parasitemia, results observed feces tests. However, infection E. coelomaticum, levels serum also indicated loss functions reported.

Exocrine pancreatic enzyme and calcium secretion in health and pancreatitis.

Calcium, enzyme, and total protein secretion were measured in secretin stimulated pancreatic juice in health, "early" chronic pancreatitis, and in chronic calcific pancreatitis. Increased concentrations of trypsin, total protein, and calcium, and increased outputs of calcium and protein were shown to be present in the "early" stages of the disease, indicating that an environment conducive to th...

Pancreatic enzyme therapy for pancreatic exocrine insufficiency.

Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency with steatorrhea is a major consequence of pancreatic diseases (eg, chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, severe acute necrotizing pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer), extrapancreatic diseases such as celiac disease and Crohn's disease, and gastrointestinal and pancreatic surgical resection. Recognition of this entity is highly relevant to avoid malnutrition-rela...

Molecular characterization of Eurytrema coelomaticum in cattle from Paraná, Brazil Caracterização molecular de Eurytrema coelomaticum em bovinos do estado do Paraná, Brasil

This study investigated the occurrence of Eurytrema spp. in cattle by analysis of the partial 18S rRNA gene sequence. Trematodes from 44 bovine pancreas were collected and classified based on typical morphological features. PCR assay and sequence analyses of amplified products confirmed that the trematodes classified as Eurytrema coelomaticum were phylogenetically distinct from those identified...

Neural hormonal regulation of exocrine pancreatic secretion.

Exocrine pancreatic secretion is regulated by hormone-hormonal and neural-hormonal interactions involving several regulatory peptides and neurotransmitter from the gut, the pancreas and the vagus nerve. The roles of the gastrointestinal peptides including secretin, CCK, neurotensin, motilin, PYY and pancreatic islet hormones including insulin, pancreatic polypeptide and somatostatin have been e...
